Clinicians & Carers

Resources

During the course of the project CARE-NMD will organise training events on Duchenne care within Associated Partner countries. These will be supported by a range of resources on this website.

These resources are publicly available, so that clinicians around Europe and the world may benefit from them. A few of the most significant are highlighted below:

The international consensus Standards of Care are set out in The Lancet Neurology article “The diagnosis and management of Duchenne muscular dystrophy” by Bushby et al.

The Guide for Families, based closely on the academic article, is more accessible to those without a medical background, and has been translated into a range of languages with many more currently ongoing.

Other resources for clinicians, such as online training tools, may be made available in future.

CARE-NMD Collaborating Partnership

If you are involved in Duchenne care, you may wish to consider becoming a in your country. By working together with CARE-NMD, you and your organisation can help bring about a higher standard of care for Duchenne patients.

A key goal of the project is to increase awareness of best-practice Duchenne care. By translating information into your local language and distributing it via your existing contacts, you will be playing a valuable part in this important task.

Although Collaborating Partners are unfunded, the project will to support partners in their work through resources and expertise wherever possible.
