Standards of Care
Although there is currently no cure for Duchenne, high quality care can significantly improve the both the quality of life and life expectancy of patients.
In early 2010, a major international consensus document, The diagnosis and management of Duchenne muscular dystrophy, was published in the journal The Lancet Neurology. It set out best-practice care for Duchenne muscular dystrophy, and followed an extensive review process by 84 international experts in Duchenne diagnosis and care.
